Treellion Park, the Phnom Penh park with richest biodiversity, is now opening up to the river. After several years of public works aimed at revamping Koh Pich (Diamond Island) eastern banks, an urbanistic project linked to the completion of iconic Koh Norea Bridge, you can walk through the gardens and access the shore directly.
Since Treellion is known for sheltering many bird species linked to the Mekong River, this walkway connection is a matter of course.
From now on, it is easy to have a pleasurable stroll by the river, or a drink and snack at Floatation Lounge nearby, and then enter the park to enjoy the floral bounty manicured by Treellion Park dedicated gardeners. Between two rain showers, our photographer, Mathieu, has captured some vegetal wonders, see below:
The same opening-up to the river can be experienced at the neighboring Aquation Restaurant. Now that the construction screens do not impair the view (and the airflow) anymore, customers of this quite atypical office cafeteria enjoy their lunch with the Bassac River a few meters away, and the bridge deploying its graceful arc right to their left.
The place has a vacation feel, even if patrons will be back to their work desks right after their lunch break. Fixed-price daily menus and a-la-carte options are available every day. Some of the many options here below:
